Multivariate Data Analysis is an advanced course in statistical data analysis. Many decision-making situations demanded handling of volume of data and simultaneously managing multiple variables. Researchers and decision-makers need deeper insights on analyzing data and making meaningful interpretations. To manage data from multiple variables and to bring out finings, one should require advanced methods like Factor or Cluster or Discriminant or Structural Models. Hence, this course introduces various multivariate data analysis tools and demonstration of executing analysis and interpretation of results.
A brief introduction of various tools, data types, cleaning and managing data and checking reliability and normality are given through lecture sessions. Then multivariate tools such as Factor, Cluster, MDS, Regression, Conjoint and Discriminant analyses are given theoretical brief and a demonstration through software package. To build and manage complex models and multiple relationships, an advanced data analysis tool- viz., Structural Equation Modeling is often used by decision-makers. This course included a demonstration of creating models, testing and interpretation of results through Software – AMOS [Augmented Moment Structure].
This course introduces various multivariate data analysis tools with a blend of lecture and demonstration module. Each multivariate statistical tool is given a brief introduction through lecture mode and with a data set. Analyzing and interpretation of results are demonstrated through SPSS software with suitable business case and dataset.
For demonstration modules, suitable business cases with SPSS datasets are given. Students may download the trial versions of the SPSS and AMOS software and use them to learn and rehearse the demonstration modules.
