Each of us will be in association or in contact with other people in the society for different needs. These associations are unavoidable. In such association, the members are expected to follow a set of rules and these rules are essential to uphold the welfare of the people. Therefore, the knowledge of law related to business environment is very vital.In this course, the learners are introduced to commercial law, company law, competition act, Industrial law, corporate tax and GST, consumer protection act and cyber laws. 

Unit I focuses on the Commercial Law which includes The Indian Contract Act 1872, The sale of Goods Act 1930 and The Negotiable Instruments Act 1881.This would enable the learners to understand the fundamental legal principles in developing various contracts and commercial dealings in the business world.Unit IIoutlines The Companies Law 1956 & 2013 and The Competition Act 2002. The provisions of these acts enables the learner to understand the different types of company, formation, authorities and winding up of company. Also about the law that governs commercial competitions in India.

Unit IIIdeals with The Industrial laws in India.Industrial Law such asThe Factories Act, 1948, The Payment of Wages Act, 1936, The Payment of Bonus Act, 1965, The Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 are elaborated.

Unit IV unfolds the fundamentals of Corporate Tax, Goods and Services Tax (GST). Basic concept of time and value of supply, Levy and collection of CGST & IGST are also elaborated.

Unit V focuses on The Consumer Protection Act, 1986 which deals with the Consumer rights, Consumer Protection Councils, and the Procedures for Consumer grievances redressal Machineries and Forums. Also focuses on IT Act 2000 deals with digital and electronic signature, electronic governance, Regulation of certifying authorities. Case study examples of this course may help the learners to comprehend and apply the legal knowledge in Business transactions. Therefore, this course will enable the learners to develop thein-depth knowledge of legal principles and practices.
