Management concepts and organizational behavior is an important course which every management student has to undergo to understand the nuances of management. It is essential to understand the meaning, function, roles of management. The evolution of management helps us to see through the development of management and how it is moving forward in today’s borderless economy. Management gurus have propounded various theories of management underlying the importance of delegation, control and communication in an organization. The importance of organization structure and design for management has been highlighted.

Organizational behavior is the academic study of how people behave with other members in an organization. The study of organizational behavior will help individuals to effectively perform their functions at the workplace. The course covers topics ranging from perception and learning, motivation, job performance, values-attitudes-beliefs, leadership styles, creativity and innovation, to international workforce challenges. Topics such as cognition, perception, stereotyping, power and politics has different connotations when viewed from cultural context and their academic study has gained importance in recent years. The recent trends in organizational behavior included the cultural components and their role in managing an international workforce. Research findings indicate getting along with co-workers and receiving supervisor’s appreciation are far more important than the environment in which they work. Such interesting findings enhanced the importance of learning this subject.
